Laura’s Bio
Miss Mitre’s career began in 1983 at the Polytechnic Institute in Mexico City. In 1985, she migrated to the USA and began working for the LAUSD at various Elementary schools and later for the College District. A few years later, with the revolution of the Internet she founded CALA Networks.
Miss. Mitre has had a distinguished career as a Director of web services, IT Coordinator, Production Artist, Webmaster and Teacher. She taught E.S.L. (English as a Second Language), and Spanish to which making use of a 100% bilingual/bicultural background, she also does translations for books, interviews and voice over for several movies.
She has extensive experience working with children and young adults with economic, emotional and cognitive disadvantages, she’s done extensive work as a volunteer for the LAUSD (Los Angeles Unified School District) programs like KIP (Kinder garden Intervention Program) and the PUENTE Program for the LACCD (Los Angeles Community College District).
Laura has had a long-held interest and passion for Education and Technology. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Pedagogy, an Associate Degree in Arts and Linguistics, with special credits in World Geography and History from the Instituto International de Idiomas y Turismo in Mexico City. She also posses Psychology, Child Development and Teaching credentials, as well as Graphic Design, Web Design, Desktop Publishing and Computer Science certifications. She is fluent in Spanish, English and French and she also speaks Italian and Portuguese.
Laura is currently the Director of web services at a private School district in Los Angeles; she is also a consultant for different Education Organizations and Marketing Companies working in different technology and translations services. Her hobbies include, Bio-Psychology, Education and World History, but most of all spending quality time with her precious children.
